Darlene Mortel Edouard
Dr. Darlene Mortel Edouard is a dedicated creative professional committed to enhancing representation and equity in the entertainment industry. She currently serves as the Director of Education at the BRIC Foundation, where she works to increase diversity in the entertainment and tech industries. In addition to her role at BRIC, Dr. Mortel Edouard is a children’s media consultant with Ole Greens Group, advising organizations on inclusive storytelling and character development in children's programming. She is a Creative Producer on the PBS KIDS series Work It Out Wombats! and an Executive Producer on MayNERD’s Wild World of Science, a children’s STEM show powered by YouTube Kids. Dr. Mortel Edouard earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in American Studies from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, and holds a B.A. in American Ethnic Studies and Political Science from the University of Washington. Her research interests include visual culture, Asian American and Filipino American studies, diaspora and transnationalism, and the role of cultural narratives in media.
