John Gauntt is the Creative Director and Co-Founder of the Seattle AI Film Festival and Seattle Chapter President of the Applied AI Association. John’s analysis of technology’s impact on media and marketing have been featured by The Economist Group and eMarketer, while his public speaking on AI and strategy were featured at SXSW, Infinity Festival Hollywood, the Monaco Media Forum, and the MIT AI Film Hack. John's audio stories and AI short films have won numerous awards including two Signal Awards from the Webbys organization, Official Selection for On Air Fest, AIFilm3, Austin AI Film Festival and the Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Festival. He is a creative judge across podcast, AI Film and XR categories for The Podcast Academy, the Hainan Island International Film Festival (China), the Harvard XR Conference, and the MIT AI Film Hackathon. John earned advanced degrees in English Literature and Computer Information Systems from the University of Tennessee and the London School of Economics. A competitive university and Masters level athlete in combat sports, John holds black belts in Karate, Judo and Brazilian Jiujitsu.
